The Story so Far
Hey there, Albee Quizmaster here!
I figured I should give a bit of background—don’t worry, I’ll try not to bore you for too long...
So how did it all begin?
Well, my mate Pete owned a coffee shop called The Coffee Hive and wanted to run a quiz night. The original idea was to have 3 or 4 quizmasters rotating, and I just happened to be up first.
Being me, I massively over-engineered it—slides, animations, and, of course, a healthy dose of dry humour—all built in PowerPoint.
Pete’s reaction?
"Wow, that’s far better than expected, dude!"
And just like that, I became the sole quizmaster.
Over the next few years, we built up a bit of a following. Then Pete moved to Sheffield, where he opened Le Haricot—check it out if you're ever in the area!
Back at The Coffee Hive...
The place was eventually sold, and I assumed the new owners would want to go in their own direction. But one day, while grabbing my usual (a delicious flat white), the new owner Ian mentioned something unexpected:
A small movement had formed...
People wanted the quiz back.
So now—by popular demand—I’m back!
Join my on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month!

Taking On The Queen’s Head
Growth starts when one venue becomes two.
Join Quiz Night is proud to be launching at The Queen’s Head in Peterborough as our second venue, another step in building fun, high-energy quiz nights that people genuinely want to attend.
What started as one idea is now growing. New venue, new crowd, same mission. Create quiz nights that feel lively, welcoming and worth leaving the house for.
Expect great questions, themed rounds, music, banter, surprises and a proper pub atmosphere. Competitive enough to be exciting, relaxed enough for everyone to join in.
The Queen’s Head is a venue with real potential, and we are looking forward to helping turn quiz night into a regular fixture people talk about.
